AVAC joins major agricultural technology VC fund
AVAC Ltd, Calgary, is partnering in Finistere Ventures FVII Fund, a new $150-million agricultural technology fund that includes Bayer CropScience and an unnamed global strategic partner. The fund will identify and invest in world-class technologies from across early- to growth-stage companies in the agriculture technology space. AVAC will participate in the fund through Verdex Capital, its ag tech arm in partnership with Finistere Ventures, a California-based VC investment firm. AVAC is partnering in the fund to leverage major R&D investments being made in Canadian our universities and institutions, and connecting the research to talent and ecosystems in the US....
