Canada and Mexico sign education agreements

Canada and Mexico have signed a collection of education-related agreements building on the Human Capital Working Group of the 11th Canada-Mexico Partnership meeting last November. The agreements include a deal between Mitacs and the National Council for Science and Technology that will send 20 graduate students from each country to the other to participate in a 16-24 week industrial research project; a memorandum of understanding between the Canadian CALDO universities consortium and the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES); and a pact between Colleges and Institute Canada and ANUIES for a framework collaboration on applied research. The agreements were signed by Mexican president Enrique Peña Nieto and prime minister Justin Trudeau prior to the June 29th meeting of the three North American heads of state...
