CFI awards $11.8M under New Opportunities Fund

The Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) has awarded another $11.8 million under its New Opportunities Fund, bringing the total awards to $71.9 million since it was launched in 1998. The new awards support 67 projects at 24 universities, helping launch the careers of 97 new faculty members. The Univ of Manitoba, Univ of Toronto and Univ of Montreal received the most awards with 9,8 and 7 respectively. The CFI also awarded $1.6 million under its University Research Development Fund, with 8 projects funded at institutions that receive less than 1% of sponsored research fundin
