Dr Marc Fortin has been appointed assistant DM research at Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC). Fortin recently completed a two-year stint as a visiting scholar at the l'Institut de recherche agronomique a Bordeaux in France. Prior to that, he was chair of the department of plant science at McGill Univ's faculty of agricultural and environmental sciences from 1998 to 2004.
