Dr Peter Hackett has taken a secondment at the Univ of Alberta and stepped aside as president and CEO of Alberta Ingenuity, positions he has held since 2004 (R$, July 29/04). Hackett will have several roles at the U of A: executive professor at the school of business, special advisor to the VP research and a fellow at the National Institute for Nanotechnology. Hackett's departure from Alberta Ingenuity comes prior to the organization's merger into a new entity — Alberta Innovates - Technology Futures — along with the Alberta Research Council, iCORE and the majority of the province's commercialization programs.
