Feds support new Saskatchewan food R&D centre

The Saskatchewan Food Industry Development Centre is receiving $13.3 million in federal funding to construct a new $15.8-million facility. The funding comes from the Growing Forward II initiative of Agricultural and Agri-Food Canada ($9 million) and Western Economic Diversification ($4.3 million). The remaining $2.5 million comes from industry and the centre's capital replacement fund. The 3,000-sq-m facility will house product development, lab services, extrusion technology and food ingredient processing....
