New prostate biomarker network receives $4 million


The Canadian Prostate Cancer Biomarker Network has received $4 million over four years to develop biomarkers for treating and managing the disease. Funding was provided by the Terry Fox Research Institute ($3.5 million) and the Canadian Partnership Against Cancer ($550,000). Researchers at a dozen universities and research hospitals in Ontario, Quebec and British Columbia will participate in the research which has a knowledge translation component. Research expertise in biomarker and genetic profiling of cancers will be combined to accelerate research results….
