The National Research Council of Canada (NRC) and Airbus have renewed their framework agreement to cooperate on research in a wide range of areas and technologies, such as manufacturing, autonomous mobility, and cabin technologies. The new five-year agreement, signed in the United Kingdom, will build on their long-term relationship, which has been going on for over 30 years. To the NRC, the agreement means strengthening its research capabilities in aerospace and defence. For Airbus, the agreement represents its commitment to the Canadian aerospace industry and is in line with its plan to set up a dedicated Airbus commercial aircraft presence in Mirabel, QC for the A220 airliner programme. The first formal agreement between the two was signed 10 years ago.
