Genome Quebec and the Quebec Network for Personalized Health Care (QNPHC) have forged an agreement with Health Education England to obtain translation and distributions rights to the UK’s internationally renowned training and education programs in genomics and precision medicine. The two Quebec organizations are collaborating to adapt and integrate the introductory genomics training program into continuing education curricula of health care professionals in the province in early spring 2018. QNPHC says the province’s healthcare professionals, including faculties of medicine, professional orders, researchers and physicians, have already confirmed participation in the training. Genome Quebec says training current and future professionals in genomics is part of the province’s strategic plan to further their economic and social development. Quebec joins the international community in looking to the future and integrating developments in genomics - including personalized healthcare, improved prediction and better disease prevention - into their health care system.
