Rocco Delvecchio has been appointed consul general for Detroit, succeeding John Tennant. Delvecchio has had a long career as a senior public servant for the federal and Ontario governments. Most recently, he served as executive director of Investment Partnerships Canada, a joint initiative between Industry Canada and the Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade designed to attract multinational and foreign direct investment to Canada.
