Six neuroscience teams awarded $8.5 million

CQDM (a Centre of Excellence for Commercialization and Research), Brain Canada and the Ontario Brain Institute have awarded nearly $8.5 million — augmented by $1.5 million in in-kind contributions — to six multi-provincial research teams. The investment will see 33 researchers from academia partnering with smaller companies to develop tools, technologies and platforms that accelerate the discovery of new drugs for brain and nervous system disorders. The teams will be led by Rob Hutchison (biOasis Technologies Inc, Vancouver), Janusz Pawliszyn (Univ of Waterloo), Elizabeth Simpson (Univ of British Columbia,) Jean-Paul Soucy (McGill Univ), Don van Meyel (Research Institute-McGill Univ Health Centre) and Nathan Yoganathan (KalGene Pharmaceuticals Inc, Toronto)....
