U of Guelph undertakes $66.6 million in lab upgrades

The Univ of Guelph is receiving $26.2 million from the new Post-Secondary Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) to undertake $66.6 million in laboratory infrastructure improvements. Other funding for the new spaces and lab upgrades comes from the Government of Ontario ($4.7 million) and the university's internal resources ($35.7 million). A key SIF-back project is a biocarbon innovation and commercialization centre to be house at the university's Bioproducts Discovery Development Centre. The new bio-carbon centre will make plastics engineered from green composites for use in sustainable manufacturing, particularly the automotive sector....
