Chevron Canada Ltd is investing $500,000 in a new industrial research chair at Memorial Univ for petroleum reservoir characterization — an amount matched by the Research and Development Corp of Newfoundland and Labrador (see page 3). Attached to Memorial's Department of Earth Sciences, the chair will maintain a research program, sustain peer review publications and external funding, advise and mentor students and contribute to the department's teaching mission.
