Indian HIV-AIDS project receives $5.9 million

The Univ of Manitoba has received $5.9 million from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for a project aimed at reducing the spread of HIV-AIDS in India. The project will be led by Dr James Blanchard, an associate professor of community health sciences and medical microbiology and a Canada Research Chair holder in epidemiology and global public health. The project will implement prevention programs among female sex workers and high-risk men along migration corridors rural areas of northern Karnataka and the urban centres of southern Maharashtra....
