Peter Walker has been appointed special advisor to York Univ president Mamdouh Shoukri to develop a proposal for establishing a new medical school. Walker comes to York from the Univ of Ottawa (U of O) where he was dean of medicine. While at U of O, he also participated in its Academy for Innovation in Medical Education. He remains a member of U of O's faculty of medicine. Walker holds an MD from the U of O as well as degrees in internal medicine and endocrinology.
